WHAT TO ASK FOR AND THE DIFFERENCE IN SALON TECHNIQUES
Seen the look you really want but don’t know what to ask for? At Meraki Hair Salon we’re always working closely with our clients to understand their exact needs. To help you understand some of the salon techniques we use to get specific looks we’ve explained some of our most popular below.
CONTOUR COLOURING
WHAT IS IT?
In a similar way we use makeup, using careful placement of colour around the face can accentuate your best features and enhance the natural skin tone, this salon technique is a mix of freehand painting and super fine highlights of different tones and depths
BABYLIGHTS
WHAT IS IT?
Babylights, another salon technique are super subtle and delicate highlights, so fine you look like you were born with it. The result is subtle but beautiful, and amazingly multidimensional.
BALAYAGE
WHAT IS IT?
Balayage is a French word meaning to sweep or to paint, It allows for a sun-kissed natural-looking hair colour. There are softer, less noticeable regrowth lines – the principal idea being less is more when creating soft, natural looks.
OMBRE
WHAT IS IT?
Ombré is a salon technique where the colour goes from darker at the roots to gradually lighter at the ends. It also is a French word meaning ‘to shade’.
The great thing about ombré is that it can be subtle or a really strong look depending on your lifestyle, and it’s really easy to maintain.
